FFL Connect was built because the existing options were either outdated, paywalled, or buried in government PDF files. We take the official ATF monthly data release, clean it, geocode it, parse expiration dates, and serve it through a fast API and a dead-simple search interface.
Every month, the ATF releases an updated master list of all active Federal Firearms Licensees. We download that file, parse each record, validate addresses, geocode coordinates to street-level precision, and cross-reference expiration dates to automatically remove any dealer whose license has lapsed. The result is a clean, current, and queryable database.
Dealers are searchable by ZIP code with configurable radius, and every result includes license type, contact information, and expiration status.
FFL Connect is developed and battle-tested in partnership with BT Gun Company in Rubicon, Wisconsin — an active Type 07 FFL manufacturer. The data tools powering this site are the same ones used in daily retail operations, which means every feature has been proven in a real compliance environment before it ships.
